“ISHKA the band” has been performing for around 10 years. We named the band ISHKA during a drought. Shortly after the naming THE RAIN CAME so we thought ‘well this is a good name’ (the name means water in Irish Gaelic spelt “Uisce Beatha” (water of life)

Bernadette Gill

Australian (Irish & Scottish heritage) (Lead Singer-guitarist- songwriter). Bernadette travelled the international circuit and also performed for the troops during the Vietnam War “Reflections Album” original work relates to that period. Her long list of entrepreneurial expertise includes: Tourist Industry, Restaurateur, Promoter of Events and more.

Brendan Williams

Irish, originally from Dublin – Multi-Instrumentalist plays Fiddle, Tin Whistle, Highland Bagpipes, Concertina and Banjo to mention a few. He has played in Pipe Bands and Symphony Orchestras. He is dedicated to the continuation of the traditional Celtic Music but excels in many styles of music.

Nel Fulloon
Singing and playing since the age of five, Nel brings her extensive and varied experience in traditional music to the band. Nel has conducted and directed a variety of community music programs and professional ensembles, including regular trad sessions in both Scottish and Irish traditions.

Marcus Philtrip
He developed his love of Celtic music from the countless jam sessions, busking and round table musical gatherings.
Marcus has English and Irish heritage which helped to develop his love of Celtic music.

Roger Peters
Born in London, his mother is English and his father is Nigerian. Roger came to Australia in 1977, he excels in playing percussion in various international styles. Roger especially loves the Celtic and folk music and his style and character and energy captures the audience.
Ian Leadbeater

Australian (Irish, Scottish heritage)  Percussionist -Accomplished in jazz, rock, celtic, rock, pop, blues, country and brass bands.
